Testify Church exists to help people discover who they are in Christ, grow in the reality of His finished work, and live lives that boldly testify to the Gospel of Grace.

Our name is inspired by the words of the Apostle Paul:

“But none of these things move me… nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”

ACTS 20:24

This Scripture is more than our inspiration—it is our assignment.

We believe Christianity is not about striving to earn God’s acceptance but discovering what Jesus has already accomplished through His finished work. Because of Christ, we have been made alive, made righteous, adopted as sons and daughters, and empowered to live lives that reflect His grace to the world.

Everything we do is centred on making Jesus famous and equipping people to become mature disciples who reveal the fullness of Christ in every area of life.

OUR STORY

Every God-given assignment has its season.

After serving faithfully for more than three decades in ministry, including 21 years leading CRC Cape Town from a small gathering of six people in a living room to a thriving multi-campus church impacting thousands across Cape Town, God began stirring a fresh conviction in our hearts.

Through prayer, wise counsel, and a deepening revelation of the finished work of Jesus Christ, it became clear that He was leading us into a new assignment—one devoted to proclaiming the Gospel of Grace and helping believers live from their true identity in Christ.

Testify Church was born from that calling.

This is not simply a new church name. It is the continuation of a lifelong passion with renewed clarity, fresh vision, and great expectation for what lies ahead.

We believe the Church’s greatest days are still in front of us. As we continue reaching people with the Gospel, developing disciples, planting healthy churches, embracing innovation, and raising future leaders, our commitment remains unchanged: to see Jesus glorified and lives transformed.

MEET OUR FOUNDERS & SENIOR PASTORS

Aidan and Sharon Jeffery

Aidan and Sharon Jeffery are the Founders and Senior Pastors of Testify Church.

For more than three decades they have faithfully served the Body of Christ, helping people encounter Jesus, discover their identity, and walk in the freedom of God’s grace.

In 2005, Aidan planted CRC Cape Town with just six people in a living room. Over the following two decades, God grew that seed into a thriving church with multiple services, satellite campuses, and thousands of lives transformed.

Throughout that journey, one conviction became increasingly clear: lasting transformation happens when people discover who they already are in Christ rather than living under performance-based Christianity.

That revelation has shaped Aidan’s preaching, leadership, books, podcasts, and ministry to pastors and leaders around the world. His passion is to communicate profound biblical truths in practical ways that help people experience the abundant life Jesus came to give.

Together, Aidan and Sharon are passionate about building a church that is grace-centred, Christ-focused, Spirit-empowered, and outward-looking—a church where every believer is equipped to grow into the full measure of the stature of Christ and become a living testimony of God’s goodness.

Their greatest desire is not simply to build a large church, but to build healthy disciples who know Jesus deeply, love people genuinely, and influence their world with the Gospel of Grace.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Statement of Faith

TESTIFY CHURCH

1. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, in their original writing, as fully inspired of God and accept them as the supreme and final authority for faith and life.

2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.

4. We believe that God created mankind in His own image; that mankind sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of sin which is death physically and spiritually; that all human beings inherit a sinful nature which issues (in the case of those who reach moral responsibility) in actual transgression involving personal guilt.

5. With regards to sexual behaviour, we believe in heterosexual relationships between a natural man and a natural woman within the confines of lawful matrimony. Adherence to this stated principal of sexual behaviour is an inherent requirement of membership of International Federation of Christian Churches (hereinafter referred to as IFCC).

6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins a substitutionary sacrifice according to the Scriptures and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.

7. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus, His ascension into Heaven, and His present life as our High Priest and Advocate.

8. We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

9. We believe that all that repent of their sin and receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

10. We believe that the church’s responsibility is to make disciples of all nations and make sure that disciples are assimilated into the local church.

11. We believe in the resurrection of both the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed, and the eternal banishment of those who have rejected the offer of salvation.

12. We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, empowering and equipping believers for service, with the accompanying supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit; and in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

13. We believe in the divinely ordained ministries of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher.

14. We believe with regards to submission to authority in the principle of being in authority because you are under authority. As such, it is understood that membership shall be subject to submission to authority in matters pertaining to church governance, doctrine and personal behaviour.

15. We believe that the one true Church is the whole company of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit; that the local church on earth should take its character from this concept of the Church spiritual and therefore, that the new birth and personal confession of Christ are essentials of church membership.

16. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances – Baptism in water and the Lord’s Supper to be observed as acts of obedience and as perpetual witnesses to the cardinal facts of the Christian faith, that Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water as a confession of identification with Christ in burial and resurrection and that the Lord’s Supper is the partaking of the emblems symbolic of the Saviour’s broken body and shed blood, in remembrance of His sacrificial death, until He comes.

17. We believe that divine healing was provided for in the Old and New Testament and is an integral part of the Gospel.

18. We believe the leadership of the local church has the authority from the Scriptures to withdraw the membership of any member for serious, unrepentant misconduct or similar cause.

19. We believe that the Church must remain open to any further truth, which the Holy Spirit may illuminate from the Scriptures.
